On October 28th and 29th, the High Speed Ground Transportation Association, in conjunction with the States for Passenger Rail Coalition - a bipartisan coalition of state rail passenger officals representing 22 state departments of transportation - will host the 2003 High Speed Rail Legislative Conference. Now is the time to highlight the unique benefits of higher speed rail passenger servvice and the need for signigicant, dedicated federal funding. The conference will focus on two important issues:

  1. Promote the development of federal policy in support of high-speed ground transportation corridors connecting metropolitan areas of national significance.
  2. Promote the need for dedicated federal financial support that will induce partnerships between federal, state, local, private sector and labor entities for the development of high-speed ground transportation corridors.
